Happy Summer!

Happy Summer everyone! Thanks for a great semester! It's 6pm on Monday May 23rd. I hope to have all your final points up by the end of the night. I'll send out an email when I do.

I've learned a lot in the past 4 months, I hope you have too.

Happy Trails!

  1. I dont even know if anyone will read this, we will just call this diary 1. I tried posting to this blog post a week ago, spent about 20 minutes writing something, and for some reason it didnt post, didnt work, whatever. Maybe it was for the best. Glenn, your class was amazing. Ive never felt so nervous/anxious about a class before. Every monday and wednesday morning i woke up thinking, "oh fuck, what am i going to learn about myself now." thats pretty much why i was a mute all semester. Id sit in your class and sweat bullets. i felt completely exposed in class. i poured my heart out in my blog, it went semi unnoticed. but im sure many in class have seen my blog. that site is me without my walls. i bared all to the world and.. felt neglected. i still keep in touch with Brad though. I hope this doesnt seem like a negative post, its actually positive. I felt alive in your class. I felt feelings. i went home after class sometimes and laughed my ass off. sometimes i came home and i cried. art is an expression of being alive and i havent felt this alive in a long, long time. Thanks for your insight Glenn,

  2. Brandon,

Thanks so much for your thoughts. It was awesome having someone as engaged as you in the course.

I'm not sure what to say about the "semi-unnotiecd" part. It was awesome the way YOU went to so many peeps blogs and tried to interact with them. As you know, most peeps didn't equal that level of engagement. IDK if they weren't really interested, or if there was a way I could have structured the course better...

One of the things I love about blogs is that even if no one reads them, they're still amazing tools for you to learn about yourself and the ideas that resonate for you and for you to develop the ability to articulate all that to others.

But yes, it sure is nice when you can get a few readers and the occasional comment.

For my part.. IDK how to do that this new semester without the tedious "bribery" of "paying" students to post (mostly lame) comments on other peeps blogs... I have to work on that some more...

For your part... even though your blog started in our class.. maybe it is something that can extend to other communities of peeps you know or discover... maybe in the log run you can get more interaction from a music community than you did from our Art100 community.

Anyway, it was a real pleasure having you in the class. This term I'm in FA-112 on Tuesdsay nights from 6pm to 8:50. Drop by anytime if you're around.
