    CHESHA 'n DANNY - thank you - new blogs on the list!!

    So everybody above this message, the following should be true:

    1) Your new/current Blogger blog is listed on the 9 or 11 roster page

    2) I am "following" your blog (if it's Blogger)

    3) Your blog is "featured" in that sidebar to the right of this post... in chronological order... so the Most Rockin' peeps are at the top... and the somewhat less rockin peeps are further down.

    If you have a Blogger blog and 1 or 2 or 3 isn't true, shout out and I'll fix it.

    If you're still on an old Module 1 Wordpress blog, go ahead and make a Blogger blog for Modules 2, 3, 4 - it's pretty easy. I think you'll actually find it easier/ friendlier than Wordpress and us all being on 1 platform really is "for the greater good" - it will make our interacting much easier and more extensive.

    YOUNG - I can't tell you what EXACTLY to show and say with your identity collage, because it isn't MY identity... it's yours!

    We all have multiple identities... we all wear multiple "hats" in different parts of our lives... sometimes these sync up well, sometimes there's strain at their intersections.

    You can choose if you want to focus in the intersections of your multiple identities... or... focus on 1 or several specific aspects of your identity.

    Probably the most obvious choice is ethnic identity... to think about your cultural heritage... your family roots... this is awesome! But it's not the only choice... maybe you're also an athlete or a nerd or whatever... and you'd rather look at that aspect of your identity - that's great too.

    It's your choice.

    As for the media of your collage... that's your choice too. Again, the obvious choice is a good choice... lots of pieces of paper - photos, documents, letters, glued together in some pastiche that speaks something about you (you don't have to use the originals for this, you can make copies of course!)

    And again there are also other choices... the "glue and paper" is a 2D (2 dimensional, flat) collage - you could also do a 3D collage of objects that speak of your life, interests, heritage, experiences...

    Or you could use a totally different medium.. like a video collage...

    So this project is fairly open... Why? Because I want Your Identity Collage to be YOURS!

    BRANDON / QUYNHNHU / YOUNG --- thanks for your messages... I'm out all day today (Saturday) but will try to reply tomorrow, Sunday, morning.

    On Coco Fusco - I'll look at her site when I get a chance... but there should be material on her... images... articles... critiques... all over the web... Galleries / Museums... and probably lots of College / University types talking about her work.

    An artist like Shephard Fairey gets tons of popular coverage but (I imagine) less academic / critical coverage... with Coco Fusco, it's probably the other way around... less pop reportage (but probably some since her work is fairly "aggressive") but a lot of academic consideration...

    So I think if you google around... and see what's been posted... it should be A LOT... just not the same "LOT" as googling Banksy and you instantly get to choose from 1,000 videos, 1,000 photos, 1,000 newspaper articles...

    Anyway, give it a shot... I'll try to be more helpful tomorrow.
